The AQ Restaurant
Working with owner Matt Semmelhack, Vanessa Bell designed some amazing light fixtures made from found & re-purposed industrial items for his new South of Market eatery "AQ". Old copper heaters and rusted old chicken feeders cluster as the focal point in the space as hanging pendants. Vintage x-ray shades arc over the dining tables in the booth area. Look to the left of the kitchen area, you'll see custom made 60 quart whisk lights.
Our goal was to make lighting as fresh and unique for the eyes as the food would be for the palate. It fit into the interior design vision of Eric Heid & Rebecca Amato. Like tables made from reclaimed woods, exposed steel girder beams and seasonal flower arrangements that, like the menu, will changes as the seasons do.
Hope to see you there.
